I'm a psychiatrist in St. Petersburg. I went to medical school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and trained in psychiatry at Nova Southeastern University. Today most of my clinical work is in emergency psychiatry.
Why I started this practice
Working in the emergency department, I meet a lot of people on what is often the worst day of their lives. Many of them had been struggling for months. Some had been on a waiting list. Some had a psychiatrist they saw for fifteen minutes every few months and couldn't reach in between. A surprising number had a medication problem that a single phone call could have solved.
That stayed with me. Good psychiatric care isn't complicated, but it does need two things the usual system makes hard: time, and access. So I built a small practice around both. I keep my patient panel limited on purpose, I give first visits the full hour or more they deserve, and my patients can message me directly when something comes up.
How I practice
I treat adults with depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma, OCD, sleep problems, and the kind of burnout that a lot of high-functioning people quietly carry. My approach is careful and collaborative. I explain why I'm recommending something, what the realistic benefits and side effects are, and what we'll watch for. When medication makes sense, I start thoughtfully and adjust slowly. When it doesn't, I'll tell you.
I also believe psychiatry works best as part of a team. With your permission, I'll talk with your therapist, your primary care doctor, and the people in your life who want to help.
Why the MBA
I earned an MBA alongside my medical training because I wanted to understand why healthcare so often feels hard to use. It shaped how I run this practice: one clear price list, no surprise bills, a superbill every month for your insurance, and systems that respect your time.
En español
Soy bilingüe y atiendo con gusto en español. Para muchas personas, hablar de salud mental en su propio idioma hace toda la diferencia, y quiero que eso sea fácil.
Outside of work
I'm a husband and a dad to a toddler, so most weekends involve a park, a stroller, and a lot of St. Pete sunshine. Being a parent has made me a more patient doctor, and a better listener.
